The Women's Tattoo Collective team includes; Brandi Gollan (@bg.tattoos), Sidney Gulka (@sidneygulka), and Kara Dee Harrison (@crashing.cadence).
Hey, I’m Brandi but my friends call me B (let’s be friends) I’m a tattoo artist that is based on Vancouver Island and have now been tattooing for almost 5 years. Black and Grey tattoos are my jam and although I mostly book out for floral projects, I love tattooing oogety boogety things and some sexy gothic architecture!
I have always worked along side a team, back when I played basketball throughout high school and again in the kitchen after graduating from culinary school; and it was always in those team
environments that I really felt like I excelled and did my best work. A team is there to lift each other up instead of tear each other down. That’s why when I entered the tattoo industry to find
that it was very much the opposite of that mentality, that I thought something needed to be done to bring us together. Community over competition!
That’s when the idea of Women’s Tattoo Collective was first born. Now having both Sidney and Kara as part of the W.T.C team, I truly believe the sky is the limit for what this community can achieve! So happy to have you apart of it.
Hey there! My name is Sidney. I’m a Vancouver island based tattoo artist who works at and owns Bloom Tattoo Co in Ladysmith, BC!
I’ve been tattooing a little over a decade, and after trying almost every style under the sun, I’ve found a great love for fineline black and grey that has won me multiple awards over the years.
I started my first tattoo apprenticeship at the age of 18, and continued from there.
After working at a few different studios over the years, I wanted to open a shop that was welcoming to anybody and everybody, and I wanted to share that space with other likeminded artists who
share the same passion for tattooing as I do. I strongly believe in working together and I believe that we all have something to learn from one another.
When Brandi asked if I wanted to help her bring Women’s Tattoo Collective to life, I couldn’t refuse. The message behind this community is everything I believe in, and more. I truly think when we
support one another and work together, magic happens. Women’s Tattoo Collective is exactly that, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.
Community over competition, always!
Hey, I'm Kara! I began working in a tattoo and piercing shop in 2013, and in 2016 I found my opportunity to apprentice as a tattoo artist. I've been tattooing for over 6 years now, and am currently in the process of building a private studio.
I love tattooing anything colourful with rainbows and glitter, but dinosaurs, pop culture pieces, and flowers are my very favourite! Through my mission and values, I strive to redefine the standards of service and care in the tattoo industry, offering not only beautiful tattoos but also exceptional experiences.
I love to travel and to learn, and have attended tattoo conventions across BC and Alberta. I've even travelled to Los Angeles for the first Explorer Women's Tattoo Summit in 2019 and again for a business conference in 2023.
As a 'later in life' tattoo artist (beginning my apprenticeship in my 30s), I've been able to benefit from over a decade of management and customer service experience, making the business side of my tattoo practice fun and fulfilling.
I attended the first two Women's Industry Night events, and now joining the W.T.C. team for their third year has been such a fulfilling experience, merging my love of learning, organizing/business, and the tattoo industry! I can't wait to meet all of you and help build a stronger community for all of us!
